Vintage Pattern

This was done a few years ago.

The pictures are not great, they were taken on a cell phone at the Cheese Cake Factory in South Lake, Texas.

I used this pattern to make a french smock dress, the pattern on  the fabric is of Paris and the girl on the fabric looks a lot like le madeleine.

I used  coordinating fabrics for the collar, cuffs and the neck tie.

I made a beret using the same fabric to complete the french look. Image

This has been one of my favorites. I love everything about it, the 1/2 sleeves, the cute little cuff, the pleats and the little belt.

It also sewed up very well. Sometimes, for me, vintage patterns don’t always work out like the picture looks on the envelope, but this one did and I was very pleased with how it turned out.ImageImage

This has also been one of Aria’s favorites. She wore it even after it was too small for her.  Image

It is true that it is a pain to iron the pleats back after you wash it, but I think it is so worth it.Image

I may try to enlarge this pattern and make her a new one.Image

I love this little jumper, with pleats up the front, back and both sides. The pattern shows ties at the top of the side pleats, but I did not put them on this one.Image

I made it out of baby corduroy and it is really soft.ImageImage

The shirt comes with the pattern and continues to be my all time favorite look for a little girl.  A very classic look.

Vintage Pattern

I love, love, love vintage patterns.  I will be posting a series of vintage patterns that I have made for Aria.

I have a few favorite places that I look for vintage patterns.  ETSY is my number one choice.  I use ebay but not as often as I used to.  Antique stores are a favorite also, but it seems that patterns are getting harder to find.

This is a 40’s pattern, kind of a Shirley Temple look. Aria wore this on her very first day of preschool.

This is simply a place for me to record and share with others some of the things God is teaching me and doing in my life and the lives of those around me. I pray it glorifies God and encourages others.
