It’s usually the special occasions that get us all under the same roof. Busy schedules and long distances between us make it hard to come together.
So on my 53rd birthday my family came home and we spent the day together.
I treasure these times for I know that as time moves on and schedules pile up, it will get harder and harder to make it happen.
Thanks to our awesome friends, Chris and Tish we celebrated with fresh crappie, a family favorite since our children were very small. They even provided the deep fryer to cook the fish!
Martin cooked the fish outside and Jason supervised.
It is always a good and joyous day when we are all together.
We feasted on and off throughout the day.
Then came the birthday cake, which I ate on until bedtime–shhhh-that’s a secret!
We spent the rest of the day just being together.
And no, I am not 97, a joke from Kory, but I don’t mind growing older. Life is amazing and these are the moments that hem us in.
