Smocking takes a long time, a lot of sitting, and even though I love to do it, I love to knit even more. So if given the choice I knit every time, so I do not have a lot of smocking projects.
This little set was actually made for Aria and has been passed down to Aniyah.
This set has several of my favorites:
I love pink.
I love polka dots.
I love smocking.
I love pantaloons.
The soft pink and off white fabric was purchased at JoAnn Fabric store, as was the shimmery off white cotton blend for the pantaloons.
It has a very simple smocked border across the bodice outlined with off white piping.
The neckline and ruffled sleeves also are trimmed with the same piping.
Did I happen to mention what I love most about this set?
The model of course!
All the women who were skilled in sewing and spinning prepared blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine linen cloth. Exodus 35:25
This is the pattern that I used.
Such a darling set for a darling girl. I never tried smocking, but its beautiful.
Thank you so much!!!
