For Mother’s Day I received a gift card for Amazon, so after days of searching my precious daughter encouraged me to get something just for fun. And so I purchased the wonderful knitting book by Carrie Bostick Hoge, Swoon Maine.
One of the things that I loved about the book was it’s multi size patterns. There are little versions of the wonderful adult patterns.
I chose to knit the adorable little shoreline vest.
Another favorite for me was the hem line of most of the patterns. The back dipped down lower than the front and I really liked that feature.
The short row technique was a little different for me, so this particular vest has some mistakes, but I think I finally got it on my second try.
The bottom edge is ribbed and it has a garter stitch on the front band with three buttons.
The yarn is wool of the Andes by knit picks. A little itchy on tender skin, but its made to be worn over something. I wanted this to be something that would warm her core in the cooler weather.
I have already started on a bigger version of this same pattern, only in red for big sister. I am actually hoping to wear this book out, there are several patterns that I intend to knit.
“I kept looking Until thrones were set up, And the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow And the hair of His head like pure wool His throne was ablaze with flames, Its wheels were a burning fire Daniel 7:9
