I love just about any vintage patterns, but I certainly have my favorites, and this is one of them!
This pattern is from the 1950’s.
I had to add about two inches to the length of this shirt. Vintage patterns are usually shorted than we wear today, and Aria is so tall.
I just love this shirt and it turns out that Aria does too. I love everything about it, it’s a classic style. I love the sleeve length and the cuff at the end of the sleeve.
The fabric is something that I bought over 20 years ago, intended for a quilt back. It was tucked in a drawer in my sewing room and I haven’t seen it in years.
I searched and searched for fabric to match her red vest that I knitted for her. I found a couple of pieces of fabric, but it just didn’t grab me. I spent nearly three days looking and finally I felt the Lord remind me of this fabric, and it worked! I was happy with it instantly!
She was thrilled with the shirt so I am planning on making a couple more.
