Little Bo peep has lost her sheep. And doesn’t know where to find them.
Leave them alone and they’ll come home, Bringing their tails behind them.
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. John 10:27

“Ready or not here I come!”
And as I entered the room, this is what I saw.
I spent several minutes walking around the room calling out, “Where could she be?”
And her laughter rang out into the room, giggles bubbling out from under gumps’ pool table and I could see her right there.
And how funny are children? When they can’t see you, they think that you can’t see them and I have a hard time containing my own laughter.
And I lean over just enough for her to see me and she squeals with delight!
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me. Proverbs 8:17

You would never have known just by looking at her. She was well put together and her appearance was that of grace and poise. The softness of her face spoke of gentleness and joy, and as she slowly walked across the room and quietly sat down, there were no signs of it anywhere.
But her, being afraid that it stuck out like a sore thumb, told us that she had broken her toes.
And I looked, sure enough, I could see it now that she pointed it out. She had two toes bandaged together. She explained that she couldn’t walk unless they were taped together. That without the tape it hurt too badly to walk, but somehow, when they were taped together they felt stronger and she was able to walk.
And days later, as I thought about my dear friend and her poor toes,He just spoke to my heart. You know, those amazing times when our Lord shows you something that just makes your heart smile big!
And I thought of Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” And that of Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
And my mind traveled through the years of prayer, and tears and laughter with this beloved friend and I knew . . . .
I was like her broken toe!
I can not stand on my own, or walk alone.
I depend upon my sister in Christ!
I need to be taped to her, then together we can make it, holding each other up and keeping each other strong.
Only when we are bonded together can we keep on keeping on.
And our Lord never intended for us to go it alone for He tells us in Philippians 2:2-5, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, or one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
And only through this bonding together, this unity within His people can we truly glorify our Lord.
“Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6
But even much more, this idea of His to be bound together in love and unity, being like-minded with each other and loving each other was meant to draw us to Himself. It was out of His own love for us that He “drew us with gentle cords, with bands of love” Hosea 11:4a. Yes, it was God who first wrapped our hearts, bound them to His own.
“A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24

God’s timing proved to be perfect in every aspect of this journey. Kory had several things going on that the Lord allowed him to complete before the day of his surgery. One of those was that Kory had been preparing to test for his second-degree black belt. He had spent months training: learning katas, perfecting kicks and jumps, and practicing his stances–spit and polish down to every last detail. Several of the instructors spent countless hours helping him to get ready, training with him day after day. Mrs Perez, a sixth-degree black belt and a quiet, mild man filled with compassion and a heart for the kids that he trained, worked with Kory until his kicks were flawless, building up his endurance to withstand the hours of testing he would endure. He pushed him hard, encouraging him at every turn.
—-Mr. Perez—
Knowing that his days of activity were limited, Kory took full advantage of every opportunity he could to work out at karate and spent a lot of his time at home training as well. We would be at the studio five to six days a week, arriving as early as possible and staying as late as he was allowed. He pressed hard in preparation for this important event, knowing that he would not be able to participate in karate for a least a year. Something that had been such a consistent part of his everyday life was going to be gone for a significant amount of time.

Kory tested for his second-degree black belt on May 27, 2006, four days before his surgery. The test seemed to be brutal but proved to be an incredible example of Hebrews 10:24 NIV: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”

His fellow karate friends came to support him and tested with him. We could hear them yelling his name and cheering him on, encouraging him to keep going. Mr. McHorse, another instructor, would rub his shoulders, give him water, and coach him between sparring rounds. I could tell that Kory was struggling to breathe because the testing was so strenuous, but he pressed on. I remember thinking, ‘This is what the body of Christ looks like!’ I saw 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV in a whole new light: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact your are doing.” What an encouragement they were for Kory.
In the end, he earned that second-degree black belt. Here is a portion of the speech Kory gave at the graduation ceremony:
“Last Friday was one of the toughest things I have had to do so far. I could never have done it without the love and encouragement of everyone here and the people that came to help me test.
Thank you, Mr. Brannan, because you made this test possible for me. Thank you, board members–you all helped me so much during this time. It’s been a joy to work with you. Jacob Brannan, I want to thank you for all your help, not only for being a teacher but a friend too.
Mr. Perez, I especially want to thank you for cheering me on from the very start. You have believed in me and encouraged me to do things that I would never have dreamed of doing. you have been like a father to me.
Through these past years, this school has taught me courage, respect, self-discipline, and self-control. My behavior reflects the AAMA School, and I feel it’s my duty to honor the school and the instructors at all times, but above all, I must honor God.”
How blessed we were by the wonderful people that our Lord had put in Kory’s life. For Kory, the studio was more than a place to learn karate and to work out. These amazing men invested in Kory as a person, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. They supported him through the hospital stay with prayers, visits, and encouragement. They still, to this day, are a part of Kory’s life. I thank God for these godly men of integrity who shape so many lives.
—Mr. Benfield—
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact your are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

I love this Portabellopixie pattern!
I have used this pattern more times that I can count.
You can find the pattern here:
http://portabellopixie.typepad.com/portabellopixie/portabellopixie_boutique_patterns/
I adapted this pattern to make my girls these matching dresses.
I used a combination of three different fabrics.
But I reversed the fabric on each dress.
Aria’s main color is the green with pink flowers and I used the smaller print for her inset.
Aniyah’s main color is the smaller print and I used the green with pink flowers for her inset.
Both dresses have a hot pink polka dot fabric for the ruffle that goes up both sides of the inset.

I also used the polka dot fabric to make Aniyah matching pants.
Aria’s pants were stretch lace leggings, which is what started this whole thing! She had the leggings and nothing to match them, so I brought them home and found this fabric to match.
I ended up adding a 4 1/2 inch ruffle to Aria’s because it wasn’t quite long enough.
I cut up rose trim that I had and each dress has roses going up the center of the inset and Aniyah’s pant legs each have a rose.
They each got a headband that matched their dress.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

Toys are thrown everywhere and one doll looks just like the next for the most part. But not to her.
The pick of the week is always the most special to Aria. And in the midst of the mess it is easy to misplace that one most treasured doll, and the hunt is on.
“Mammy, I can’t find my favorite bratz doll”, she tells me with a hint of concern in her voice.
“Well . . . where did you last have it?”
“I think it was in the playroom.” So off I go in search of her treasure, to no avail.
As I started to explain to her that her doll was nowhere to be found, she said to me, “Excuse me mammy, you interrupted me, I was praying about my doll.”

“Oh, I am so sorry that I interrupted you.” And she bowed her head and resumed her petition.

I turned to leave her with her Lord and immediately my eyes fell upon a heap of messy hair, laying on the desk.
Her doll.
I picked it up and held it up in front of her and as she lifted up her head and opened her eyes, there was her beloved doll.

But more importantly, her answered prayer was before her!
Oh, to have the faith of a child!
“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Luke 11:10 ~~Jesus~~

Here is a pattern that I am not that crazy about.
It looks cute enough on the pattern and there were some things I liked but I will not make it again.
I gathered the skirt instead of pleating it like the pattern shows.
What I didn’t like about it is the sleeves are sewn into the bodice and the skirt, so when she lifts her arms it spreads out and looks huge.
I did however LOVE the fabric. The bodice was a remnant that I got at the flea market.
There was just enough for the bodice and I love how the circle trim works as a cuff on the sleeve.
The skirt is a thin white cotton that has ovals all over it, and is lined.
The hot pink ribbon tops off the color combination.
“Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” Matthew 6:30
